This is an American film included in the genre of horror and romance, shot in 1992 by director Francis Ford Coppola and written by James V. Hart, based on the novel Dracula, Bram Stoker's original.

It was produced by Columbia Pictures. The cast includes Gary Oldman (playing the role of Count Dracula), Keanu Reeves, Anthony Hopkins and Winona Ryder. The soundtrack was composed by Wojciech Kilar, but his final song, Love Song for a Vampire (Love Song for a vampire) was written by Annie Lennox. The film was well received by the public, and received 4 nominations for the Academy Awards in 1993, which won three: Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Best Sound Editing.

This film is one of the many film adaptations of Stoker's novel, but is considered his official adaptation, since the film is more faithful to the novel, as well as introducing it to characters that never were adapted in previous versions as Quincey P. Morris and Arthur Holmwood.

The story begins when the clerk Jonathan Harker is sent to the Carpathians, Transylvania, with a mission to visit the castle of a certain Count Dracula.
